Since the BA Hons Textiles In Practice Degree Show, I have been contacted by Neville Johnson, a luxury interior fittings company based in Manchester. A representative from the company noticed my work at the show and was interested in the printed leather products that I had created.
There have been discussions about using leather for the new collection of sofas and soft furnishings so perhaps this is something I could be involved in eventually.
I was offered the opportunity to showcase my work in the shop window of the Neville Johnson showroom in London on Wigmore Street, just off Regent Street. My bags have been displayed in the store for just over a month, I went to visit the display to take photographs and see how my bags had been curated.
I am really happy with the imagery I have been able to collect from the showcase; I have been sent a press release and certificate to document the achievement and hope to work with Neville Johnson in the future.
Over the summer, I have decided that I want to continue to push myself and explore new ideas and develop my practice by completing a Masters Degree at Manchester Metropolitan University. I will begin the course in October and potentially go onto to study an MFA.
