MA Practice Two - Shape and Structure

For practice two I want to focus on designing a product. I have looked at existing products by current designers and begun to pick apart structures and concepts as well as shapes and print application.

I want to get my designs right and create something recognisable as a brand. Over the next couple of weeks I want to look back at the documentary photography that I have collected of texture and structure and pull apart the images to find shapes and structures that could be appropriate for a vessel or bag design.

Using Photoshop I have edited some imagery so that I can bring forwards the shapes within my photographs and make them more obvious. From these images I will start to draw out shapes and play around with three dimensional structural drawings.

I think it could be a good exercise to cut out shapes from paper and fold them to reveal new ideas collected from the random lines and structures I have documented. I will photograph the designs I begin to produce and start to put into place a successful product range that I can begin to prototype.
